Best Bridal Shower!!
Thanks to Mario and Baja California Wine Tours my bridal shower in Valle de Guadalupe was incredibly fun and unforgettable. Under a special request, I asked Mario to put together a nice itinerary for my bridal shower. Twelve of my best friends and I wanted to spend the day wine tasting but also wanted to go to two specific restaurants and wineries. Mario was able to confirm our reservations at those places and he provided a brand new van for our transportation. He also picked us up at my home in San Diego and he was very patient throughout the whole time since all 13 of us take forever to do anything! Mario had the van decorated with “Happy Bridal Shower” banners in the inside and he had a tiara for me that said “The Queen!” Mario took us to our first requested stop across the border for breakfast. We wanted to go to “La Espadaña” in Tijuana. Delicious traditional Mexican breakfast! From there we went to Valle de Guadalupe and enjoyed amazing wine at “Viña de Franes”. Mario ordered cheese platters with cold meets and jams for us. We were given a nice tour of the winery as well. For our second winery we went to Cuatro Cuatros. What a place!! The view from there is simply unbelievable. After lots of wine and lots of dancing, because they have a DJ, then we headed down the hill en route to Deckman’s restaurant for dinner. Definitely the best food in the world! It is expensive but worth it! Throughout the whole day Mario was on top of everything. Mario is very approachable, professional and funny. We all felt safe with him and we felt as we had know him for ever because of how friendly and funny he is. One of my friends from Rome chatted with him all day long because Mario is fluent not just in English and Spanish but also in Italian. In short, we never would of had such an amazing day if it wasn’t for Mario’s expertise and impeccable customer service. I highly recommend his company!

Great daytrip across the border!!
What a great way to explore Baja for the day. Our group of 4 booked a "public" day trip for wine tasting in Valle de Guadalupe. Nine other people joined our group so we were 13 in total. Mario picked us up at the Old Town Station parking lot in a 15 passenger van at 0900. Easy to find using rideshare, trolley, or plenty of parking if you drive. Mario coordinated everything for a great wine-tasting daytrip. We easily crossed the border, stopped for restrooms and coastal views, then continued to our first winery. It was about an hour trip in total. We popped bottles of champagne and enjoyed the ocean views along the way. Mario took us 4 wineries and a picture perfect restaurant for lunch. One winery visit was cut short due to a brush fire, but Mario handled the situation perfectly. I never felt in danger and Mario remained calm while getting all 13 of us out of the fire area. He found an additional winery for us to visit and explore. We had about an hour wait in traffic to get back across the border. We are snacks and shared wine in the van, making the wait tolerable. We got back around 8:30-9pm. I'd do another tour and recommend this company to anyone looking for a daytrip to the Valle!!!

Best part of my vacation
I always love a week in San Diego, but I was especially happy when my family booked this day trip to visit wineries in Baja California. Mario picked us up in a convenient location, happily stopped to make sure we got our coffee fix, and was the perfect tour guide the whole day. The meal he ordered for us was incredible, his information made the whole day so much more informative and special, and his pictures that he took are some of my best memories of the trip. He was truly the best kind of tour guide and made our day effortless and fun. Thank you, Mario!

Family Vacation
This was an incredible tour!! Definitely one of the highlights of our family vacation — the information along the way was intriguing, the views spectacular, and the wine, vineyards and food top notch. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area or planning a day trip with friends or family. Loved that he took pictures for us along the way too so we could get all of us in the experience.

Great day trip
We were picked up in San Diego in a nice private van. Crossed the border and before 11 am we were already in a winery relaxing with great wine. After that beautiful views, more wine and then a great lunch. Amazing actually.
Then another winery some sight seeing and back to San Diego. All in all a great day.

Great wine tour in Baja Mexico!
The wine tour was fantastic! We left from Old Town trolley station, and they took us across the border in a large van. We visited several wineries in the Valle; all were beautiful and with great owners/hosts. I enjoyed the wine we tasted, including the chardonnays which aren't typically my favorite.
Driving across the border on the way back didn't even take as long as I thought so that was great. Overall, great tour, Mario made sure to take group photos throughout the day so we can remember the experience. I highly recommend heading across the border to experience Valle de Guadalupe!

Wonderful tour! Great guide!
After trying to book with a couple of different tour companies, Mario graciously accepted our small party of three for a private wine tour to Valle de Guadalupe. I'm happy that we had the opportunity to take this trip with his company. We got to see a little more of Baja California than we bargained for due to the wild fires after we passed Rosarito. As we made our way to our destination, Mario provided in depth information about Mexico's wine history as we went through various cities enroute to the valley. We visited three wineries: L.A. Cetto, Baron Balche and Adobe Guadalupe. The food and wine were amazing. We had a great time and would definitely book with Baja California Wine Tours again in the future.

Baja California Wine Tours is the company to choose!
Mario at Baja California Wine Tours is the perfect wine tasting host and tour guide. He's friendly, super knowledgeable, knows how to keep a group on schedule while also making you feel totally taken care of and relaxed, never rushed.
We could not have had a better day! He handled everything with crossing in & out of Mexico smoothly, that includes border patrol, tolls, paying and tipping people at stops, etc. - he made it all look easy - because it is to him! This allowed all of us on the tour to just relax and enjoy our day.
When we visited the Guadalupe Valley, they had just had fires the day before. He knew everything about the wineries, fires, etc. and knew exactly which routes were safe to take. No worries whatsoever.
The wineries he chose were all superb. Small, family run wineries where he knew everyone and we got personal attention. We all brought home bottles of wine.
The lunch spot he chose for us was absolutely incredible and delicious, farm to table. Beautiful open air spot. Plus there were extras on the property such as espresso, gelato, and even a hotel right in the vineyards. I would definitely go back there!
The day ended with us all peacefully tired, but not too tired. The border wait was about an hour, to be expected.
I definitely recommend Mario and would sign up for another tour with him in a heartbeat.
p.s. One member of our group has checked out several other Mexico wine tasting tour guide companies before, and said that Mario was her favorite guide. Everyone on our tour had a great time.

A wonderful town, even when wild fires tried to shut us down
Mario was a great guide. Unfortunately we had to take a few detours due to wild fires the day of our tour but fortunately we had Mario, who put together an impromptu itinerary that was amazing. The food, winery locations and historical background shared were amazing. With only a small group of 3 and a last minute booking, Mario provided a top notch experience. I'd book with him time and time again! Oh, and he provided awesome pics of our tour. Thanks Mario, you're the best.

Perfect day trip
I didn't quite know what to expect from a wine tour in Baja California but I was completely charmed by the scenic area, the beautiful and serene wineries, the helpful and friendly staff at the wineries, and most of all by Mario's expertise in guiding us through the day trip. He was so pleasant and informative and very knowledgeable about Baja, and the restaurant he picked for lunch was exquisite. I will be going back!
