This tour has it all!! Great for kids and the whole family! Let us take you on a great adventure to the country side of Tecate.
We'll drive for 1 hour among the mountains of Baja, east of Valle de Guadalupe and take you to an amazing private ranch "Rancho Tecate". Once there, a number of different outdoor adventures await you! Try zip lining across the lake, do some hiking and mountain biking, swim or row in a canoe. Full SPA service also available if you just want to disconnect yourself from the world. Get a massage, a facial or hot stone treatment while drinking wine and eating cheese. Lunch is served outdoors so you can enjoy an equestrian show by the Andalusian and Arabian horses. Lunch includes juice cuts of steak and pork on the grill, lots of organic vegetables and amazing desserts. After the outdoor activities and lunch, we will let you try the best craft beer in the region and do some tequila and mezcal tastings. The whole experience can be done in a day but if you want to take it slow, ask about our “Rancho Tecate” overnight stay package.

Cross the border into Mexico via Tecate/Campo east of San Diego.

Visit the town of Tecate (main plaza, downtown and cerveceria Tecate).

Enjoy an unforgettable all day, all inclusive wine tasting private tour to Valle de Guadalupe.
You will be picked up at your location of preference and driven south across the border without having to get out of the transport. Once in Mexico, you will enjoy an easy one hour drive along the Pacific Scenic route towards Ensenada. During whale season you can actually spot a few whales along the way! Sufficient restroom stops if necessary. Once in Ensenada, we’ll go east for ten more minutes into wine country! By 11am you will be enjoying delicious reserve wine from Valle de Guadalupe!
You will visit three boutique wineries with wine tastings included, get a tour of the winemaking process and enjoy a delicious BajaMed, five course, lunch at Finca Altozano by famous chef Javier Plascencia.
This is a private tour aboard a luxury 6-14 passenger van with air conditioning and reclining seats. Only the people from your party will come along in your transport. No strangers! Plenty of legroom and free bottles of drinking water will be provided to each passenger! You are also welcome to bring your own drinks too (no large ice boxes).

Great experience with an awesome host
My wife purchased this tour for my birthday and I couldn't have been happier. Mario is very informative and easy going and we both got along with him very well. Will definitely go again the next time we're in the San Diego area. The drive there and the region are so beautiful. It's a very unique opportunity to get to see a wine region that for years was a hidden gem but is now drawing the eye of many tourists. Also the wine is fantastic.

Amazing experience
What an incredible experience!!! Mario was so knowledgeable so not only did we get to learn about the wine region but also the culture in general. The tour completely exceeded expectations!!! Mario was also still willing to do the tour even though it was just my friend and I that signed up — most tour companies would not do this. He was so friendly and took us to amazing spots. One of the best tours I’ve ever been on!!!

Amaizing Baja Tour with the locals!
It never gets old to take a tour with Mario and Baja California Wine Tours. As a repeating customer I can truly recommend Mario because he takes you places that only a local would know. Amazing food and plenty of it. Delicious tequila and mescal and craft beer as well. Shopping and sightseeing through the local markets, museums, botanical gardens etc. Our Tijuana-Rosarito-Puerto Nuevo tour had it everything. Mario took us to unimaginable corners of Tijuana and Rosarito that I never thought existed. The Tijuana beer factory was my favorite but my partner's favorite was the amazing Baja style lobster with beans, rice and flour tortillas. Plenty of Mariachi music as well in this tour. Mario knows everyone and he is very funny and professional and it's like traveling with a history professor because of the amount of information he shares with you regarding the region. Don't go with anyone else! Mario is the man!!!

Amazing Food, Drink and Music in Baja Mexico
Mario gives a first rate tour! He has lots of great history and interesting facts about the area to share with you. The food, beer, margaritas and music were amazing. We have traveled the world and been on many tours. Mario is our new favorite tour operator and the Puerto Nuevo tour has made our top ten! Take this tour! You won't regret it : )

Perfect day! Perfect guide!
We had a fantastic day on our wine tour with Mario. Valle de Guadalupe is beautiful. Mario had picked out the nicest places to visit with good atmosphere, nice wines and lunch. Mario is the perfect guide, he knows a lot about the area, about the wines and cheeses. He is a good storyteller and a good driver. We had some rain on the trip, but really, I remember the day as a very sunny day, We were a couple travelling and met a nice family of four. Very good company, including Mario.

Fascinating trip to Tijuana

Lobster and Margaritas!
Our tour last Friday was amazing! When we were picked up, we were told by our guide, Mario, that we would have a private tour since the other people in the party cancelled last minute the night before the tour. I really appreciate the tour not being cancelled on us. Instead, we had an amazing private tour with a very knowledgable guide. The stops were fun and educational, and the lunch was delicious! Our tour guide also included a craft beer tasting for us because we are beer drinkers. All in all, it was a fabulous day, and we will definitely be taking another tour in the near future. We highly recommend taking a day tour with Mario if you are looking for a fun day excursion across the border!

A great experience - do it!
This was a fabulous day. Mario knows the region very well and selected three great wineries and a wonderful restaurant for lunch. He knows the local customs very well which provides for a safe, carefree experience. The scenery was beautiful and the wine was surprising good. Before going on the tour I wondered, i) should I bring my passport, I did and made the return board crossing easier; 2) would I feel safe, I felt very safe and attribute that to Mario; 3) could I drink the water, I did and all was fine. Overall, a great experience - would go again, for even longer, with no hesitation.

Wine Tour with Mario
Mario is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the area. He has a true passion for going out of his way to make your trip memorable. Be sure to ask about some of HIS more memorable trips.
My only recommendation was that the online form said hotel pickup was included. But we had to take an Uber to meet Mario. But if that’s my only complaint, then I’m happy! :-)
